Social and emotional learning programmes
Brook Creative Therapy is committed to helping implement the NHS’s New Horizons Targeted Mental Health in Schools Programme. This programme ‘enables participating schools to test innovative models of mental health support for children, young people and their families who need it most, and to make better links to specialist services'.

The play therapy (special time) approach used by Brook Creative Therapy is one of the Social and Emotional Learning Programmes found to improve children’s:
* Social and emotional skills
* Attitudes about self and others
* Connection to school
* Positive social behaviour
* Academic performance
* Reducing conduct problems and emotional distress
Such Targeted Mental Health in Schools programmes ‘have been found to work equally well in school and outside school settings, for young people from black and minority ethnic groups, and for young people with behavioural and emotional problems'.
