A letter to church leaders
How many times in your calling as a Christian minister have you felt overwhelmed by people’s pastoral problems? Perhaps you’ve wished someone could assist you in the burden of responsibility for unresolved emotional issues in the people you are seeking to help. As a Christian and a qualified professional psychotherapist and play therapist I want to offer you my help and that of my wife, Christine.
For four years we have served God as missionaries in Romania, providing therapy for adults and children, as well as training psychologists, psychiatrists and counsellors who work with some of the most needy people in Europe. We are now in the process of returning to Rugby, Warwickshire, enriched by our missionary experience and eager again to help both Christians and nonChristians in the UK.
I am highly experienced in counselling adults on a wide range of issues. Christine and I together offer couples counselling and play therapy for children and families. For many years we have been active members of Rugby Christian Fellowship in Cambridge Street. We combine personal faith with our professional training and experience to provide what we believe our clients most need.
Our rates are reasonable. Some churches provide a subsidy so that people can receive such professional help. Enclosed is a leaflet or two about our work.
Sincerely in Christ
Roger Day UKCP Registered Psychotherapist, Certified Play Therapist
PS The person you want to refer may be you. I have worked with many church leaders whose problems fall into three categories (like a three-point sermon): depression, obsession or indiscretion. Be assured of complete confidentiality.
